At times when I wish otherwise...
28 January, 2008
I wish I were deaf,
so I could use my senses superbly.
I wish I were blind,
so I could appreciate more of what I do not see.
I wish I were mute,
so no words I speak are unkind.
I wish I were nearing death,
so I would live my life as if it were my last.
I wish I were a man,
so none would see me as fragile.
I wish I were brilliant,
so I wouldn't have to put so much pressure on me.
I wish I were a poet,
so my sadness would become verses.
I wish I were a song writer,
so my tears would be every song I'd sing.
I wish I were poor,
so I would appreciate what I have now.
I wish I were disabled,
so I would use all of me productively now.
I wish I were hurt (physically),
so my heart's pain now be shadowed by it.
I wish I were crazy,
so that they'd see what I think now have meaning and sense.
I wish I were happy,
stable enough to understand things,
I wish I felt peace,
so I can radiate peace to many others.
I wish I were loved,
so love would be my source of every strength have.
And Lastly,
I wish I could just be me,
so I'd be more proud of myself.
